Career Guiding - Do you have the tools you need?

Career Guiding Icon   What is Career Guiding?

Companies own your job. You own your career. Career Guiding is your path to taking a look at your career and figuring out whether or not you have the tools needed to reach your career objectives. By taking a look at skills you currently have, those you wish to obtain and where you would like to go with your career, you can leverage the tools you have towards taking action on defining and building your career.

Why should I do it?

Knowledge is your most valuable investment. Career Guiding can help you recognize how to leverage your knowledge to better align yourself with your goals. Identify the next steps and take ownership of your career path.

The Value of Career Guiding

  • Identify the next steps of your career

  • See the benefits of obtaining a higher position

  • Skill identification

  • Identify gaps and learn how to close them (both in IT and non-tech skills)

  • Have a "back-up" plan

  • Put more time back into your life

  • Effectively wear more hats and make the best contribution possible

In other words ... Make Yourself Indispensable!

What's the process?

The educator in the classroom will spend 15-20 min discussing choices on directions that people have taken with their careers – people like you.

They will layout choices to help direct you to your end goal, as well as provide guidance and answers to your questions. Please spend some time thinking about this before you attend your class.

Either before or after your class, we will provide you a mini plan of next steps with skills to help you work towards your personal and professional goals.

We can provide assessments on new skills you’re looking to obtain, identify the next steps of your career, recommend learning choices available to close gaps and post-class assessments to measure progress. Then, your Education Advisor will review your next steps and help you get your plan underway.
