What to Expect While at New Horizons of Minnesota
You come to New Horizons of Minnesota for superb education — our goal is to surpass that expectation. In the classroom, you will learn from instructors who have real-world experience and love to teach.
When you walk in the door on your first day of class, you'll be greeted by our team of Training Advisors, guided to your class and given a brief tour of our facility. Here is other helpful information about the service you can expect from us!
Class Times:
Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Central (there are a few exceptions). Your Instructor may adjust these times based on course materials and class flow. On your first day of class we suggest you arrive a few minutes prior to class start time. This will allow time to check-in, meet your Training Advisor, get a cup of coffee and bagel and get settled in your classroom.
Breakfast:
Don't worry about eating before you come to class! We have lots of great food and beverages for you here. Relax in 
our large, comfortable break rooms and enjoy:
- Fruit, bagels and pastries
- Coffee, tea, cider and hot chocolate
Lunch:
All of our instructors schedule an hour for lunch. Feel free to bring your own and store it in our refrigerator until lunch time or check out our restaurant map to see if there is a place you'd like to go instead. Printed copies are also available in our break rooms.
Ice Cream:
Yum! We also have a freezer full of ice cream treats in each break room. This is a great afternoon pick-me-up to help get you through those last few hours of class. Enjoy!
What to Wear:
Temperature tips: We suggest you bring a coat or sweater with you as the temperatures in our classrooms do vary, as do personal preferences. We want everyone to be as comfortable as possible.
Break Room:
Our break rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere as well as a place for you to stay connected to the office. Besides breakfast and ice cream you'll find:
- Computers with internet to use at your convenience
- Wired and wireless internet access
- Telephones to use at your convenience
- A refrigerator for storing your own lunch or snacks
- Television
Other:
- A certificate is awarded for completion of each class as specified by vendor requirements.
- Feel free to give our main telephone number (952.896.6800) out to co-workers or family. We'll gladly take messages for you. In an emergency, we'll deliver the message to your class right away.
Audit a Class
We guarantee your satisfaction is our number one priority. If you need a refresher on a particular topic or course, you have the opportunity to audit the same course again as our guest at no charge. Please contact your Training Advisor to register as an auditor. We do stipulate that seating must be available to enhance your learning opportunity as well as you must bring your original student kit to class. Please note that audits are only available for courses that have not undergone a revision in the course material.
Special Needs
We will try our best to accommodate any special needs that you may have. Please notify a Benchmark/New Horizons associate as soon as possible so that we can make any necessary arrangements. There is a handicapped accessible entrance located on the east side of the first floor of our building. Audio and/or video recording equipment is not allowed in class as it is a violation of our vendor agreements to permit recording of course lectures and exercises.
