Newsvine, Inc. was created in Seattle in 2006 with the purpose of having a efficient way to interact with the news. It brings together established media sources as well as individual contributions from around the world. What get's high placements is dependant on the NewsVine community.

Reddit is a website dedicated to social news that allows its users to post links to web content. The links then get predominance based on the votes of other users. Discussion areas allow users to discuss the links and to vote for or against others' comments.
