Brian Bandelin
In April 2005, Brian Bandelin joined the New Horizons of Minnesota team. Brian is ITIL certified, and his teaching spans a wide array of classes at our facility - everything from Word, Excel, Access to Lotus Notes, SQL, ACT! and many others. He's a huge movie buff (and master of the Kevin Bacon game) and enjoys collecting maps and atlases. Brian's previous employer was ExecuTrain.

Dan English
Dan English - a Senior Consultant with Magenic, a national Microsoft Gold Certified partner, focusing on Business Intelligence. Has been working with Microsoft technologies for over 10 years and doing data warehousing for over 5 years. Dan started up a blog this past year at http://denglishbi.spaces.live.com posts screencasts on YouTube and MSN videos in regards to SQL Server 2008 new features - search keyword ‘Magenic'. Dan has a strong passion for Microsoft technologies and is a MCITP Business Intelligence Developer with knowledge in all aspects of the Microsoft BI Platform.

Jason Strate
Jason Strate, Digineer Inc, has been a Database Architect for ten years. His experiences include designing and implementing both OLAP and OLTP solutions involving clustering servers, database monitoring and tuning, analysis services, DTS/Integration Services, Reporting Services, and Notification Services. Jason has presented at the Minnesota SQL Server User Group (PASS MN) and he actively blogs about SQL Server and related technologies. Recently, Jason contributed to Microsoft’s published white paper “Empowering Enterprise Solutions with SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition.”

John Thurow
With a BS degree in Math and Industrial Education, John has been delivering technology and computer education since 1982. He has a passion for education, especially when working with SQL Server, which he has been working with beginning with SQL Server 6.5. John specializes in database design, database programming, administration tasks and high availability technologies, including SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, reporting and data mining. With the introduction of SQL Server 2005, he has observed a Business Intelligence tidal wave and has developed training paths to deal with those needs. He is also the lead for the Microsoft Hands on Labs for SQL Server in the North Central District. While John is New Horizon of Minneosta’s SQL lead, he also has many other strengths and competencies, including Active Directory design, Exchange configuration and administration, VB and WMI scripting. His previous employers include ExecuTrain, South St. Paul High School and National Education Center, Brown Institute Campus.

Lara Rubbelke
Lara Rubbelke brings her passion for architecting, implementing and improving SQL Server solutions to the community as a Technology Specialist for Microsoft. Her expertise involves both OLTP and OLAP systems, data management, performance tuning, encryption, ETL, and the Business Intelligence lifecycle. She is an active board member of the local PASS (Professional Association for SQL Server) chapter and regularly delivers technical presentations at local, regional and national conferences, user groups and webcasts. Notably, Lara has presented at Tech Ed (2006 and 2007), the PASS Summit (2006 and 2007), the Minneapolis SQL Server 2005 Launch, and delivered numerous webcasts on MSDN and TechNet. Lara authored the Microsoft whitepaper detailing SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition features and was a contributing author of "Expert SQL Server 2005 Development". Prior to joining Microsoft, Lara was a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP).

Mark Vaillancourt
Mark Vaillancourt is an Information Management Consultant with Digineer, Inc, a Microsoft certified Gold and Managed Partner, based in Plymouth, MN. Mark has been working with databases for 9 years, with most of that experience working with the ticketing and fundraising system at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. In March of 2007, Mark joined Digineer and started working with Microsoft SQL Server. He has spent the past several months elbow deep in SQL Server Integration Services (and loving it).

Steve Hughes
Steve Hughes is the Senior Data Architect at XATA Corporation, a trucking-industry expert in optimizing fleet operations through an on-demand SaaS model. Steve currently sets the direction for storing and using data at XATA, which includes using SQL Server and its many attached services. He is also responsible for maintaining and improving the multi-tenant data architecture that supports XATANET, XATA’s flagship product. He is a co-author of SQL Server 2005: Applied Techniques Step by Step by MS Press and Solid Quality Mentors, and he currently serves on the boards of the Minnesota SQL Server User Group and the North Central Business Intelligence Special Interest Group.
