| | This free seminar is the first in a new five-part series on Virtualization of the Data Center brought to you by Midwave and Benchmark Learning. In total, the series will cover Virtualization technologies, Platform and Foundation and Operational Life Cycle. During the first seminar Kevin Wieberdink will define and explain the following technologies of Virtualization: desktop, distributed, mid-range, support systems, network and storage. After attendees have a clear understanding of the technology definitions, Kevin will move on to define the integration of Virtualization including platform OS, HA/DR solutions, solutions, operations, deployment, design, integration and metrics.
Agenda:
1. We'll cover the basic concepts behind what Virtualization is and what it means in the Data Center space;
2. We'll then review why Virtualization is a key initiative and why so many companies have already virtualized their server and desktop environments;
3. Then we'll review some of the more prominent Virtualization products in the marketplace & review product features and functionality from VMware, Citrix and Microsoft product lines.
