| | The course is aimed at IT professionals who will participate in managing, organizing and optimizing the operations of Release and Control processes in an IT Service organization which has implemented, or started to implement, ITIL based Release and Control processes (Change, Configuration and Release Management).
It is expected that the course will appeal to operational staff and managers who wish to extend their skills in planning, monitoring, reporting and optimizing in relation to the processes of Change Management, Configuration Management and Release Management.

There are multiple assignments done in a group setting throughout the 5 days, There will also be a mock exam, written assignments and an in-course assessment. This course forms part of the ISEB's Practitioner qualification program. The qualification is based on a and multiple choice examination. Exam preparation and the exam are included at the end of the course. Successful delegates will be awarded the ISEB Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Management specializing in Release and Control.

| Objectives |
| | | The Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Management, Release and Control is awarded by EXIN on successful completion of a multiple choice examination and practical assignments, undertaken as part of an accredited training course. The examination is a two hour examination consisting of 40 multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 65%.
The practical assignments are supervised and assessed during the training course by trainers from an accredited training provider.
At the start of class, delegates obtain two documents for more information regarding and preparing for the examination and the practical assignments: - The Practitioner, Release and Control Service Document
- The Practitioner, Release and Control Track Description
Both of these documents are produced by EXIN and will be included in the course material |

Prerequisites |
| | ISEB or EXIN Foundations Certificate is mandatory and experience working within an IT Service Management environment within the specified processes is highly recommended.
It is highly recommended delegates familiarize themselves with the ITIL Publication Service Support (the "blue" book), especially:
- Chapters 2: Relationship between processes
- Chapter 7: Configuration Management
- Chapter 8: Change Management
- Chapter 9: Release Management
Any annexes in the chapters should also be read, they are included in the exam, especially Annex 7A.
