What to Expect While at Benchmark Learning
You come to Benchmark Learning for superb education — our goal is to surpass that expectation. In the classroom, you will learn from Educators who have real-world experience and love to teach.
When you walk in the door on your first day of class, you'll be greeted by our team of Education Advisors, guided to your class and given a brief tour of our facility. Here is other helpful information about the service you can expect from us:
When Does Class Start?
Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Central (there are a few exceptions). Your Educator may adjust these times based on course materials and class flow. On your first day of class we suggest you arrive a few minutes prior to class start time. This will allow time to check-in, meet your Education Advisor, get a cup of coffee and bagel and get settled in your classroom.
Breakfast
Don't worry about eating before you come to class! We have lots of great food and beverages for you here. Relax in 
our large, comfortable break rooms and enjoy:
- Fruit, bagels and pastries
- Coffee, tea, cider and hot chocolate
Break Room
Our
student break rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere as well as a place for you to stay connected to the office. Besides breakfast and ice cream you'll find:
- Computers with Internet to use at your convenience
- Wired and wireless Internet access
- Telephones to use at your convenience
- A refrigerator for storing your own lunch or snacks
- Television
What Do Students Do for Lunch?
All of our Educators schedule an hour for lunch. Feel free to bring your own and store it in our refrigerator until lunch time or check out our Restaurant Map to see if there is a place you'd like to go instead. Printed copies are also available in our break rooms. You can also visit our local restaurants page to learn more about some local restaurants.
Ice Cream
Yum! We also have a freezer full of ice cream treats in each break room. This is a great afternoon pick-me-up to help get you through those last few hours of class. Enjoy!
Career Guiding
The educator in the classroom will spend 15-20 min discussing choices on directions that people have taken with their careers – people like you. Either before or after your class, we will provide you a mini plan of next steps with skills to help you work towards your personal and professional goals. They will layout choices to help direct you to your end goal, as well as provide guidance and answers to your questions. Please spend some time thinking about this before you attend your class.
What if I Have Special Needs?
We will try our best to accommodate any special needs that you may have. Please notify a Benchmark Learning associate as soon as possible, so that we can make any necessary arrangements. There is a handicapped accessible entrance located on the east side of the first floor of our building. Audio and/or video recording equipment is not allowed in class, as it is a violation of our vendor agreements to permit recording of course lectures and exercises.
Any Other Advice?
Temperature tips: We suggest you bring a coat or sweater with you, as the temperatures in our classrooms do vary, as do personal preferences. We want everyone to be as comfortable as possible.
